Nassau County Man Critically Injured in Long Island Expressway Crash, Police Say A Nassau County man was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash early Friday, July 9, on a stretch of the Long Island Expressway in Suffolk County. The Suffolk County Police Department reported that the crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. west of Exit 56 in Hauppauge.  Police said Derrick Louis, age 24, of Westbury, was eastbound in a Nissan Altima when his car struck the back of a Freightliner box truck.
