State Trooper Suffers Opioid Exposure After Overdose Crash On Hempstead Highway, Police Say A New York State Police trooper was hospitalized for possible opioid exposure while responding to a suspected overdose crash on a state highway. State Police on Long Island were initially called at around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, with reports of an erratic driver in Hempstead, heading southbound on the Wantagh State Parkway near Hempstead Turnpike. When troopers arrived, they found the vehicle disabled after a crash. Three Charged In Connection To 7-Eleven Robbery Spree Three people were nabbed for allegedly conducting a string of 7-Eleven robberies that spanned five months throughout Suffolk County. Akeel Swazey, 36, address unknown; Audra Litwin, 33, of Babylon, and William Jackson, 39, of Amityville, were arrested on Thursday, May 23, following an investigation by the Major Case Section into the six robberies that took place in March and May, said the Suffolk County Police.  Swazey was also charged for an addition robbery that took place in December of last year, police said.  All three were charged with six counts of robbery.
