A Long Island man was arrested after police say he broke into a couple’s apartment, punching one victim and causing property damage.
It happened on Monday, April 15 in Island Park, according to Nassau County Police.
Just before 12:45 a.m. that morning, a 45-year-old woman called the police to report that a man had broken into their apartment and was fighting with the woman’s boyfriend, age 50.

A young man from New Jersey was arrested after he was discovered to be part of a group that has committed a string of burglaries across Long Island, police announced.
Fazon Farrington, age 19 of Newark, New Jersey, was arrested following an investigation that stemmed from a Lake Success incident, Nassau County Police said on Thursday, March 14.
On Saturday, Jan. 13, a group of three men, also from New Jersey, were reportedly fleeing from the scene of a home they attempted to burgle — but were stopped when they crashed into the officers driving towards the scene.

Duo Set Fire To Pseg Substations So They Could Burglarize Long Island Businesses, DA Says
Two men accused in nearly a dozen commercial burglaries on Long Island tried distracting police by setting fires at electrical substations, prosecutors allege.
Frank Costa, age 54, of Port Jefferson Station, and Jon Pucci, age 29, of Middle Island, were arraigned on arson and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Feb. 27
According to prosecutors, the men broke into nine Suffolk County businesses – including six convenience stores, a laundry mat, and a deli – between December 2023 and February 2024.

41-Year-Old Sentenced 20 To Life For Uniondale Burglaries
A man could spend the rest of his life behind bars for his back-to-back burglaries on Long Island.
Kevin Carroll, age 41, of Manhattan, was sentenced on Wednesday, Feb. 21 for his 2020 Uniondale burglaries, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
On the evening of June 22, 2020, Carroll forced open the back door of 429 Fenimore Avenue, a Uniondale boarding house that has both shared and single-occupancy rooms.
Carroll had once been a resident of the boarding house himself, the DA’s Office said.

One Long Island man has been arrested, with others potentially on the loose, after a break-in that involved a gun, a sword, and more, police said.
It happened on Wednesday, Jan.24 in Hicksville, according to Nassau County Police.
Just before 2 a.m. that morning, a group of men are reported to have broken into a house on Princess Street.
The group, which included 27-year-old Hicksville resident Simranjeet Singh, got into the home through the basement door.

The incidents happened between Friday, Dec. 29, and Wednesday, Jan. 13 at five locations in Nassau County.

A recently fired man was arrested on Long Island after he went to his former employer’s home on Christmas Day and assaulted two people, police said.
It happened on Monday, Dec. 25 in North New Hyde Park, according to Nassau County Police.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., 37-year-old Kar Toong arrived at a home on Robby Lane to confront his former employer about being fired, yelling and swearing.

Police arrested three people who allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Long Island stores.
On Thursday, Dec. 7, the trio were caught in the parking lot of the Oceanside Marshalls, located at 3544 Long Beach Road.
The three Hempstead residents — Kevin Joyner, age 56; Lori Menendez, age 47; and Richard Dean, age 39 — were hiding $1,428 worth of goods they snuck out of the store, according to Nassau County Police.

Police are on the search for a man who they say broke into a Long Island restaurant, stole thousands of dollars in cash, and ran.
It happened on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in Carle Place.
According to Nassau County Police, an unknown man broke into Plori Restaurant, located at 307 Old Country Road, by breaking down the back door at approximately 4:15 a.m.
Once the thief was inside, he stole nearly $10,000 in cash from multiple registers before fleeing on foot.

A man is facing charges after officials claim he burglarized Long Island businesses, stealing more than $500,000 in both merchandise and in currency.
