Husband Kills Wife In Long Island Murder-Suicide, Police Say
An elderly couple is dead after a murder-suicide on Long Island.
It happened around 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22 in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County Police said.
Valentin Hernandez called 911 at approximately 10:10 a.m. and said he shot his wife in their home, located on Breeze Avenue, according to police.
When Fourth Precinct officers arrived, they found both Hernandez, and his wife, Dorothea, with gunshot wounds, after Valentin Hernandez apparently turned the gun on himself after calling 911.
The couple, both 90, was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Lakeland Fire Department.
