Oceanside Man Killed In Fiery 2-Vehicle Long Island Expressway Crash In Plainview Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Nassau County. An occupied 1999 Ford Explorer was stopped in the westbound HOV lane at Exit 48 in Plainview when the vehicle's rear was struck by a 2018 Kia Sportage travelling in the same direction, Nassau County Police said.  Upon impact the 1999 Ford Explorer caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames, said police. The sole occupant of that vehicle, an 89-year-old Oceanside man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. H…
