One person was killed in a wrong-way crash on the Wantagh State Parkway.
It happened around 5:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug.13 south of the junction to the Southern State Parkway in Hempstead, according to state police.
That's when a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lane struck another vehicle head-on, police said.
One person succumbed to injuries at the scene and the other was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said police.
The cause of the collision is under investigation and the State Police is asking for anyone with information to call 631-756-3300.
