Police investigators in Nassau County are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to locate a wanted man who was busted on multiple charges and failed to appear in court.
An alert has been issued for 39-year-old Jason Whitaker, who is wanted by the Nassau County Police Department after being arrested and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny for stealing property with a value over $1,000; assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and first-degree criminal contempt for violating a an order of protection that was issued by the court.
Whitaker was later released, failed to show up for court proceedings and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Investigators described Whitaker as a 5-foot-10 African American weighing approximately 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police noted that anyone who spots Hansen should not attempt to apprehend or detain him.
