Duo Accused Of Drag Racing On Long Island Roadway

Two men were issued summonses for allegedly drag racing overnight on a Long Island roadway.

Suffolk County police officers observing traffic in Huntington on Deer Park Avenue, near Two Brothers Lane, at around 12:30 a.m. Friday, March 5 when two southbound vehicles traveling in excess of 85 miles per hour were allegedly observed.

The officers initiated a traffic stop and issued summonses to J. Kashi-Kasendorf and Sean Heron. 

Kashi-Kasendorf, age 25, of Commack, who was driving a 2018 Honda, was issued four summonses for:

• reckless driving, 
• unauthorized speed contest, 
• speeding, 
• tinted windows

Heron, age 21, of Greenlawn, who was driving a 2004 BMW, was issued seven summonses for:

• reckless driving, 
• unauthorized speed contest, 
• speeding, 
• operating with an uninsured vehicle, 
• operating an unregistered vehicle, 
• operating with improper plates, 
• operating an uninspected vehicle.

Both vehicles were impounded.
