A Nassau Community College student was found shot to death just a block from his Queens home.

New York City Police said Jay Patel was found by police around 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, after receiving a 911 call for an unconscious man in front of a building on 268th Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 19-year-old man, later identified as Patel, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, the NYPD said.

EMS responded and transported Patel to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where he was pronounced dead.

Multiple reports said police believe the murder may have taken place in another area and that his body was dumped just one block from his home.

He was reportedly found by neighbors.

The NYPD said that investigators are searching for a red Toyota seen in surveillance video from the area and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.

All calls will remain confidential.
