Using a Zippier database, a newly released report from NewYorkUpstate.com determined the 99 largest businesses in the Empire State, based on the employee count at each location.

Among the Long Island companies to make the cut include:

Northwell Health in New Hyde Park (13th overall):

Employees: 60,000;
Education Services;
Organization type: Education.

Henry Schein in Melville (49th):

Employees: 21,000;
Pharmaceuticals;
Organization type: Public.

JetBlue Airways in Islandia (65th):

Employees: 16,841;
Airlines;
Organization type: Public.

Altice USA in Melville (70th [tied]):

Employees: 16,000;
Diversified Telecommunication Services;
Organization type: Public.
