1 Woman Killed, Another Seriously Injured In 2-Vehicle West Islip Crash

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11 in West Islip.

The driver of a 2023 Infiniti Q50 was traveling westbound on Union Boulevard, just east of Route 231, when the vehicle lost control and side-swiped a westbound 2020 Hyandai Sonata causing both vehicles to crash, Suffolk County Police said.

A female passenger in the Infiniti was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip where she pronounced dead a short time later. Her identity has not yet been released.

Another female passenger in the Infiniti was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver of the Infiniti and two other passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver and passenger of the Hyandai were not injured.
