Y. -- Plans are in gear to build a new storage facility for Yorktown salting trucks and snow plows along Greenwood Street, according to News 12 Hudson Valley.State Sen. Terrence Murphy is helping to provide $375,000 in state grant money for the project to replace the dated garage on Front Street, reported News 12 Hudson Valley. Greeley Celebrates 222 AP Scholar Award Winners CHAPPAQUA, N. Y. -- A total of 222 students at Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua won Advanced Placement awards for tests taken in May 2016, with 17 making the list for National AP Scholars. The Advanced Placement program works in cooperation with high schools to provide college-level courses to high school students. In May, 533 students from Greeley took 1,242 AP exams in 31 subjects. Eighty-two percent of test-takers scored at 3 or higher, qualifying for college credit. Exams are scored on a 5-point scale. Y. -- Area runners can enjoy some fall colors along the Hudson Valley in the 6th annual Fall Foliage Half-Marathon and 5K race event Saturday, Oct. 1,  that includes a 3-mile challenge course called The Sicko.The half-marathon starts at 10 a.m. at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, followed by the 5K at 10:20 a.m. The Sicko event starts at 12:30 p.m. so participants can do it alone or combine it with another race, organizers said.
