South Park Avenue In Easton Closed For Bridge Repairs EASTON, Conn. – The Easton Police Department announced South Park Avenue, between Riverside Lane and Tersana Drive, is closed until further notice. As that is a major commuter route for the Merritt Parkway and Bridgeport in general, detours have been set up north and south, police said. Northbound commuters can detour to Tersana Drive to Ferndale Drive to High Ridge Road, while those going south can take High Ridge Road to Ferndale Drive to Tersana Drive, police said. Shelton Driver Charged In Death Of 90-Year-Old Man In Crash NEWTOWN, Conn. – Newtown police have charged a Shelton man in the death of a 90-year-old man in a head-on two-car crash on Sunday night, police said. Miguel Barragan-Santiago, 33, was charged with second-degree manslaughter and misconduct with a motor vehicle and held on $450,000 bond. The crash occurred at 8 p.m. Sunday, and Henry Petrucelli of Brookfield was killed instantly when his Honda Civic was hit by the suspect's pickup truck.
