Federal Review At Indian Point Finds Over 200 Degraded Bolts BUCHANAN, N.Y. — A recent review by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission uncovered a large number of deteriorating bolts at the Indian Point nuclear plant in Buchanan, according to lohud.com. Over 200 bolts were considered degraded, which is a sign that they've begun to crack, in the plant's Unit 2 reactor, reported lohud.com. That comes to about 11 percent of the bolts used in the reactor going back decades, reported lohud.com. The reactor was being inspected as part of preparations to get it back online by the end of June, and repair work has begun on the bolts, the lohud.com report noted. …

Road Rage Incident Tops North Castle Police Blotter NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. — This week's North Castle police blotter features a road rage incident, along with a handful of other suspicious incidents and various complaints. Arson Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Suffern Man SUFFERN, N.Y. — Suffern police arrested a local man on fifth-degree arson and criminal mischief charges on Friday after a month-long investigation into a dumpster fire at an apartment complex on Pavilion Road. The 49-year old Suffern man was arrested after police determined he was the person who carried an item on fire and put in in the dumpster, causing the rest of the trash to catch on fire. Operation Prom Dress Giveaway Launches In Westchester County WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. — The 13th annual Operation Prom dress giveaway was launched at the Westchester County Center on Friday with the help of Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett. Operation PROM helps low-income students attend proms across the East Coast with dress and tuxedo rentals. Suffern Man Charged With Criminal Contempt After Domestic Dispute SUFFERN, N.Y. — Police say they charged a 43-year-old Suffern man with criminal contempt after a domestic dispute on Friday morning. He was arrested after violating an order of protection by his ex-wife, as she called police after he went to her house, police said. The man was remanded to the Rockland County Jail on $2,500 bail, police said.

Police Use Instagram To Make Arrest In Bridgeport Reckless Driving Case BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Connecticut State Police used social media to arrest a New Haven man who had been posting photos and video of reckless driving on motorcycles, four-wheelers and dirt bikes along Interstates 95 and 91, including in Bridgeport. Police obtained a search warrant on Thursday from New Haven Superior Court and arrested 21-year old Gabriel Canestri Jr., the owner of the "Reckless_203" Instagram account where the videos and photos were posted.
