Mount Vernon Wins Sick Pay Lawsuit Over Retired Police Officers City officials in Mount Vernon saved taxpayers millions of dollars after a police-sick-time lawsuit was filed by eight retired officers with the department. The New York State Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit filed in 2016 by eight retired police officers and their union, which alleged that the city owed them compensation for unused sick time.
