The Parade included veterans, various local groups, scouts, fire and police departments, as well as emergency responders. A ceremony was held after the parade at the monument located at Broad St. and Main St.

Putnam Remembers War Heroes On Memorial Day MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Putnam County remembered those who gave their lives in military service Monday on Memorial Day, with a parade and a ceremony in Mahopac. The Mahopac VFW Post 5491 and American Legion Post 1080 parade started at Clarke Place and proceeded to Veteran's Memorial Park behind the Mahopac Library. A ceremony there included local dignitaries, and included a wreath ceremony and a 21-gun salute. Check out the video to see clips of the parade and ceremony.

Dutchess Interfaith Council Promotes Solidarity Walk For Muslims POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Dutchess Interfaith Council will host a solidarity walk for Muslims at Walkway Over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie on Sunday.  The walk will take place from 5:30-7 p.m.  Walkers should assemble at Walkway Park's east gate on either Washington Street or Parker Avenue.  First Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a vegetarian potluck iftar and program for Ramadan after the walk from 7:15-8:30 p.m.  The church is at 325 Mill St. in Poughkeepsie.

Tompkins Mahopac Bank Donates $8,000 To Maria Fareri Children's Hospital VALHALLA, N.Y. -- More than three-dozen employees and friends of Tompkins Mahopac Bank’s Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester County branches joined thousands of others in May for the "2016 Go the Distance Walk" and fundraiser for the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital in Valhalla.During the 12th annual event, which featured a one-mile walk and family activities on the campus of Westchester Medical Center, the Tompkins Mahopac Bank team raised $8,000 for the children's hospital, with additional contributions ongoing.
