Region Native Mary J. Blige Inducted In Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
Hip-hop soul legend and New York's Mary J. Blige's career is doing "Just Fine," as the iconic artist has just been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Blige, age 53, was named an inductee into the Cleveland-based Hall of Fame on Sunday, April 21.
In their write-up on their website, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame said the Yonkers native has provided the soundtrack to countless fans' lives.

Well-Respected Judge From Region Dies
A popular and well-respected Hudson Valley judge has died.
Dutchess County Judge Gerald V. Hayes of Poughkeepsie, age 82, had been battling lymphocytic leukemia for three years.
Hayes, who died on Saturday, Jan. 27, was a man of deep faith, hard work, great sacrifice, profound wisdom, remarkable accomplishments, and the highest character, his obituary said.
Hayes originally studied to become a priest but changed his mind and received his juris doctorate from Fordham Law School in 1968. Shortly after he went to work as Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan.

A police officer and a Westchester man face years in prison for conspiring to distribute narcotics, officials announced.
New York City Police Officer and Bronx resident Grace Rosa Baez, age 37, and Yonkers resident Cesar Martinez, age 43, were both arrested on narcotics distribution charges, the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced on Friday, Oct. 20.

$2M Scheme: 6 Steal Property Deeds, Obtain Fraudulent Loans In Region, DA Says
Six people, including a licensed real estate broker and salesperson, and a corporation, have been charged with defrauding homeowners in Westchester and fraudulently obtaining $2 million in loans by stealing property deeds, DA officials said.
The six defendants involved in the scheme, including three Westchester residents and a Long Island man, were arrested and arraigned in late June for their role in a scheme that allegedly defrauded homeowners in Yonkers and New Rochelle, the Westchester County District Attorney's Office announced on Monday, July 3.
