Man From Region Sentenced For Possession Of Gun, Drugs
A Hudson Valley man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and possession of drugs.
Orange County resident Steven Bostic, age 41, of Middletown, was sentenced Monday, April 22, to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, according to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
As alleged in documents filed and statements made in court on the evening of April 30, 2023, City of Newburgh Police Officers responded to a domestic incident at a residence in the City.

Following a five-year investigation into the death of a Hudson Valley man, detectives, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force have arrested a suspect in the case.
Dikion D. Constantine, age 23, of the Bronx, was charged on Thursday, April 11, with the murder of Sebastian Avilan-Medina, age 26, of Middletown, on Monday, March 11, 2019.
According to Lt. Jeffry Thoelen of the Middletown Police, the arrest culminates a highly intensive five-year investigation into the cold case homicide of Avilan-Medina, who was found shot to death in his Knapp Avenue home.

A Hudson Valley man was seriously injured during a single-vehicle rollover crash.
The collision occurred in Orange County around 8:20 p.m., Sunday, March 24, on Shoddy Hollow Road in the town of Mount Hope.
According to Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police, upon arrival, troopers found a grey 2005 Acura sedan rolled over with one person in the driver’s seat.
The driver later identified as Wade A. Weyant, age 57, of the city of Middletown, was entrapped in the vehicle causing serious physical injury to his left arm, Nevel said.

Two men from the region are in serious condition after being struck by a car while standing on the side of a roadway in the region.
The crash took place in Sullivan County around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 29 on Route 17 in the town of Thompson.
