Tell Us Your Friday The 13th Experiences, Putnam PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Grab your rabbit's foot, Putnam. Tomorrow marks the second Friday the 13th of the year. The first one was Feb. 13 in what is a quirk of the 2015 calendar. The next one will be in November. Renovated I-95 Rest Stop In Fairfield To Open Thursday FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The newly renovated service plaza on I-95 southbound in Fairfield will throw open its doors at noon Thursday. The service plaza, which includes a McDonald's, Subway, Dunkin' Donuts, Alltown Convenience Store and an ExxonMobil gas station, is the 20th of 23 highway service plazas that have recently been renovated. Project Service LLC has a 35-year contract with the state to renovate and operate the service plazas. Darien Police Releases Photos Of Suspect In Train Station Theft DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man who stole cash from a concession stand at the Noroton Heights train station before boarding a train. The incident occurred the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 8:45 a.m. An employee of the concession stand told police that he had placed a cash register till on top of a counter and left it unattended. A man then walked up and took the till, which contained about $200 in cash, police said. The man was described as a white man in his late 20s. Police said he is believed to have boarded an 8:49 a.m. train. …

Norwalk Rapper Charged With Carrying, Dropping Pistol At Housing Complex NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk rapper was arrested after police said he dropped a semi-automatic pistol while running from the cops in July. Daeshawn Richardson, 24, who raps under the name Y.G. Polo, was charged with possession of a pistol without a permit and held on $100,000 bond. He was also charged with interfering with an officer in a separate incident. The arrest stems from an incident July 10 when members of the Special Services Street Team were patrolling the area of the Colonial Village Housing Complex. Norwalk Teen Charged In Stabbing During Large Fight NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk teen was arrested for a second time in connection with a stabbing in South Norwalk last week and now faces assault charges, police said. Nasir Hilliard, 18, was charged with first-degree assault. He was held on $250,000 bond and will appear in court March 18. Hilliard had previously been charged with second-degree breach of peace in the incident. The stabbing took place Tuesday, March 3, in the area of South Main Street and Grove Street. Make-a-wish Sends Darien 6-Year-Olds To Disney World DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien community gathered at the YMCA Tuesday to bid bon voyage to Jeremy and Miles Clark, two 6-year-olds who are off to Walt Disney World courtesy of Make-A-Wish Connecticut. The twins arrived in style to their send-off party, with the Darien Fire Department volunteering a firetruck to chauffeur them and their parents, Lindsey and Cyrus, to the event. Norwalk Police Terminate Officer Who Had Faced Sex Assault Charges NORWALK, Conn. -- The Norwalk Police Department terminated an officer who was arrested in 2009 on sexual assault charges that later were dropped. Anthony Santo was fired Monday due to violations of a number of sections in the Norwalk Police Manual, the police department announced Tuesday evening. Santo was arrested in October 2009 in Greenwich and charged with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. Danbury Men Charged With Breaking Into Car At Police Station DANBURY, Conn. -- Two Danbury men were arrested after police said they broke into a car in the parking lot behind the Danbury Police Department. Fire In Hill Top Manor Home, RV Displaces Seven In Danbury DANBURY, Conn. -- Three adults and four children were displaced when an RV fire on Hill Top Manor in Danbury spread to a home early Tuesday. The Danbury Fire Department responded to 24 Hill Top Manor at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. An RV trailer was engulfed in flames, and the blaze extended to the left side of the house, fire officials said. Danbury firefighters extinguished the house and trailer fire and remained on the scene until 4:30 a.m. There were no injuries in the incident, but residents were displaced due to the damage. Police: Fake FedEx Man Took Package From Darien Woman DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien police are on the lookout for a man who took a package that a 75-year-old woman gave him by mistake, thinking he was a FedEx delivery person, police said.
