Man From Region Slashes Barber, Cuts Own Throat, Police Say A man from the region is behind bars after allegedly slashing a barber numerous times with a knife and then cutting his own throat on a local street. The incident occurred in Ulster County in the 600 block of Broadway at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in Kingston. According to Chief Egidio Tinti of the Kingston Police, Gunercindo Diaz-Diaz, age 41 of Kingston, was spotted by a New York State Trooper with a knife to his neck on a city street. The trooper pulled over and tried to talk Diaz-Diaz out of harming himself, but he cut his neck, causing a minor injury, Tinti said. The trooper …

NY State Trooper Injured In Hit-Run Crash Police are investigating after a New York State trooper was injured in a hit-and-run crash overnight. It happened around 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 near the border of Westchester and Fairfield counties in the village of Port Chester.
