Airborne Car Crashes Into Home In Region, Police Say
An out-of-control car that went airborne after hitting an embankment struck a home in the region. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 on Route 9G in the town of Red Hook. According to Red Hook Police, the crash took place when a 2002 Subaru driven by a 41-year-old Catskills man was driving south on Walkers Hill Road when the car crossed into the northbound lane, struck an embankment, became airborne, and hit the home. Fatal Crash In Region: 32-Year-Old Man ID'd As Victim
A 32-year-old Hudson Valley man was killed during a crash with another vehicle on Route 299. The incident took place in Ulster County around 7:15. p.m., Thursday, Oct. 19 in the town of Gardiner. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, Dutchess County resident Daniel Curtin, of Wappingers Falls, was driving a 2023 Yamaha motorcycle when he was struck by a 2012 Subaru that crossed over the double-yellow line. Nevel said Curtin was gravely injured and died from his injuries despite the efforts of the troopers and EMS on the scene. This investigation is ongoing.
