14 Westchester Towns Rank Among Top U.S. Family Suburbs WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – Niche.com released its 2015 ranking of the best suburbs to raise a family, placing Scarsdale at No. 1 in the nation. Scarsdale was one of 14 sites in Westchester County that cracked the list's top 100. Bronxville and Larchmont also placed in the top 10 at fifth and ninth respectively. Niche.com compiled their rankings by using crime rates, library access, affordable housing and other statistics. Irvington drew the No. 21 ranking. Mamaroneck was 40th. Plans are to hold discussion groups in each town - Danbury, Bethel, Newtown, Ridgefield, Redding, Easton, Weston, Westport, Wilton, Fairfield and Norwalk.
