Fatal Crash On Sprain Brook Parkway Snarls Morning Commute GREENBURGH, N.Y. – A fatal accident on the Sprain Brook Parkway Friday morning has resulted in the closure of the right lane of the roadway.  The accident occurred just south or Route 100B around 4:30 a.m. and initially blocked two lanes. The accident occurred when two cars collided, according to ABC 7, which reported one person was also injured. The right lane is expected to remain blocked until approximately noon Friday.

Traffic Returns To Commerce Street Crossing After Fatal Accident VALHALLA, N.Y. – The intersection where Tuesday night's fatal train accident occurred reopened to traffic Thursday afternoon for the first time since the tragedy. Cars were able to travel across the Commerce Street crossing north of the Metro-North train station Thursday at about 12:30 p.m.  Service on Metro-North's Harlem River line also resumed Thursday morning. Pet Dog Dies In Pelham Manor House Fire PELHAM, N.Y. – A pet dog was reportedly killed Wednesday afternoon in a house fire in Pelham Manor, lohud reported. There was nobody home when the fire began in the basement of a house at 1084 Washington Ave. around 4:45 p.m., the report said. Firefighters from Pelham Manor and New Rochelle contained the fire in about an hour. Ambulance workers apparently tried to save the dog. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Greenburgh Doctor Sued In Joan Rivers Death Faced Earlier Malpractice Suit GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Dr. Renuka Bankulla, the Greenburgh resident and lead anesthesiologist in Joan Rivers' fatal procedure, settled a previous malpractice lawsuit in 2005 for $4 million, according to the New York Daily News. According to the report, Bankulla was sued for her involvement in a case in the Bronx where a mother died in childbirth while undergoing a C-section. Bankulla and Bronx Lebanon Hospital settled the lawsuit in 2005 for $4 million: $1 million to the estate of the mother, Consuelo Martinez, and $3 million to her son, Erik, the paper reported.
