VALHALLA, N.Y. -- The Valhalla International Fund, which hosts and sends exchange students, will hold its annual Friendship Dinner on Saturday night.
Elaine Mancini, president of the parents chapter of the VIF, said the organization celebrated its 50th anniversary last year and will welcome 200 people to this years dinner including 40 foreign exchange students, two of which attend Valhalla High School.
Mancinis daughter, Fiona Morrice, a senior at Valhalla, is the president of the students chapter of the VIF. She has arranged activities for the exchange students, who will stay in Valhalla from Thursday night to Sunday and attend a dance and Sunday brunch in addition to the dinner Saturday night.
Mancini said VIF arranges programs for exchange students who come to the U.S. and for American students who study abroad. One Valhalla High School student traveled to Greece last summer and three will travel abroad this summer. The students and their destinations will be announced at the dinner Saturday.
Guests at the dinner will be able to meet exchange students and enter a raffle with an international travel prize worth $1,500.
The dinner is open to the public and will be held Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Valhalla High School, 300 Columbus Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, available at the door.
