Westchester Gilda's Club Sponsors Essay Contest

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Gilda's Club Westchester, which provides free support for those affected by cancer, is sponsoring an essay writing contest for high schoolers interested in sharing how cancer has touched them.

The winner of the "It's Always Something" essay will receive $500, the second place contestant will be given an iPod Touch and accessories and the writer who takes third place will earn a Kindle. Judges seek personal essays that move readers with honest, detailed accounts of how cancer affected them, their family or a close friend.

Essays must be received by March 20.

Gilda's Club Westchester will sponsor a reception for all contest participants on May 7.
