The iconic British Jaguar E-Type sports car, manufactured between 1961 and 1975, was the quintessence of cool motoring. Its sleek looks and high performance are so legendary that it sits permanently in place in the Museum of Modern Art's design collection.
The car was a huge success for Jaguar, which sold more than 70,000 E-types during its lifespan. And now the Jaguar E-Type is prowling back.
A Swedish design firm will build a limited run of production cars based on the Growler E, a reimagining of the Jaguar E-Type. The first Growler will be ready to purr into your driveway by the summer of 2012.
The Growler will feature a composite body glued to a carbon fiber structure. If you're interested in queuing up for yours, you can expect to pay as much as $1.4 million, depending on how many cars are produced.
