Car Slams Utility Pole, Goes Up In Flames On Hunterdon County Lawn (Photos) One person was taken to a nearby hospital after a car slammed into a utility pole and went up in flames, landing on a Hunterdon County lawn early on Sunday, July 9, responders said. The crash occurred at the intersection of Old Turnpike Road and Elliott Farm Road around 8:05 a.m., the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad said. Crews found the car engulfed in flames after hitting a nearby pole and veering onto the front lawn of an adjacent home. 3 Hurt, Lab Rescued During Serious Back-To-Back Crashes In Hunterdon County Three people were taken to trauma centers and a yellow lab was rescued during back-to-back crashes in Hunterdon County on Sunday, June 4, responders said. The Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad responded to the first crash around 10:10 a.m. and found that the driver had slammed into a utility pole on Route 517 north of King Street in Oldwick. The driver was treated at the scene and taken to a nearby trauma center while the passenger — a yellow lab — was cared for at the scene and picked up later by family, the squad said.
