The latest, following the 4.8 magnitude quake that rocked the area on April 5, occurred just before 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, according to the USGS. This aftershock was among the highest in magnitude of the dozens of aftershocks since the initial earthquake. It was reported 7 km WSW of Gladstone, and according to the USGS map, east of Tewksbury. At 9:05 a.m., Newark police were pursuing a vehicle westbound on I-78 in Tewksbury, state police said.  The vehicle came to a stop and the six suspects fled the scene on foot, police said. The crash occurred on the westbound side near the ramp to exit 24 to CR 523/Oldwick Road in Tewksbury around 1:55 p.m., according to 511NJ. State Police: Two Cars Collide With Tractor-Trailer Carrying Carbon Dioxide On Route 78 All lanes had reopened Thursday morning after a tractor-trailer carrying carbon dioxide collided with two other vehicles on Route 78 in Hunterdon County, state police said. The crash occurred around Exit 24 near County Highway 523 in Tewksbury just after 6:30 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. The westbound lanes were temporarily closed while crews moved the vehicles to the shoulder of the road and had them towed, police said. No serious injuries were reported as a result of the crash, Curry said. The scene was cleared with westbound lanes reopened about an hour later.

The animal bit the 79-year-old man's pants legs and refused to let go in Christie Hoffman Farm Park in Tewksbury, around 7 p.m. Friday, Chief Tim Barlow said. The man was able to fight off the raccoon, and later went to a local hospital for treatment for scratches to his arm. Neither of his dogs were hurt, police said.

The man was heading northbound on Route 517 when a tree fell on his 2008 Toyota Tacoma near mile marker 2.6 just after 3 p.m., Chief Timothy Barlow said.
