Hunterdon County Man Assaults Walgreens Employee, Flees: Police A Hunterdon County man was arrested for allegedly assaulting an employee at a local Walgreens, authorities said. Readington Township Police responded to the assault at the Route 22 location and found an employee with minor injuries around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, the department said. The suspect, George G. Furino, of Flemington, had fled the scene before police arrived but turned himself in a short time later. He was charged with simple assault and trespassing and released.

Njsp Helicopter Search Underway After Bank Robbery In Hunterdon County, Police Say State Police initiated a helicopter search after a bank in Hunterdon County was robbed Wednesday afternoon. The robbery occurred at TD Bank on Route 22 west in Whitehouse around 3:50 p.m., Readington Township Police said. State Police were conducting an overhead helicopter search of the area following the robbery, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. Weekend Dispute At Route 22 Motel Turns Physical A 22-year-old man was charged in a dispute that turned physical at a Route 22 motel over the weekend, police said.  Zachary Welz began arguing with Vikram Talwar, 61, outside their rooms at the Siesta Motel in Whitehouse Station just after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Readington Township police said. Police: DUI Driver In Hunterdon County Crash Refused Breath Test A Pennsylvania man was under the influence when he crashed his car in Hunterdon County, authorities charged. Javier Garcia, 39, of Hatfield, Pennsylvania was driving on Route 202 south near Summer Road when he crashed shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, Readington Township police said in a release. Garcia refused to submit to breath testing and was later arrested and served a DUI. He was also charged with refusal to submit to breath testing, reckless driving and failure to possess credentials, authorities said. He was released to a friend.
