UPDATE: A Paterson police officer from Garfield who was drunk when he caused an off-duty chain-reaction crash that injured another motorist in Clifton took a deal from prosecutors rather than risk a trial, authorities announced. Noel Ramos, 27, pleaded guilty to DWI and will be entered into what’s known as a pre-trial intervention program, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said Friday. A former Phillipsburg High School teacher admitted in court Wednesday to threatening to reveal “embarrassing” information about another employee in order to influence his tenure vote. George Chilmonik, 75, made threats to leak embarrassing information unless an official with the school district “took action consistent with their demands to influence a tenure vote,” Warren County Prosecutor James L. Morris County Man Who Faked Slip-Fall Incident, Admitted Fraud Denied Pre-Trial Program Appeal
A Randolph man has been officially denied a pre-trial intervention program following his guilty plea to insurance fraud for faking a slip-and-fall incident. Alexander Goldinsky was 57 and working as a subcontractor when he was caught on surveillance footage dropping ice on the floor of a Woodbridge cafeteria and lying on top of it in an attempt to collect fraudulent insurance money, authorities said.
