Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power Thursday, April 4 following a nasty storm that brought gusty winds and heavy rain to the region on Wednesday, April 3. As of 8 a.m., 8,000 Monmouth County residents were without power mainly in Freehold, Highlands, and Middletown (4,000), according to JCP&L. In Bergen County, more than 2,000 PSE&G customers had no power mostly in Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, and Teaneck. In Essex County, 1,063 PSE&G customers were in the dark, the majority in Irvington. Driver Seized After Sunday Morning Crash Splits Utility Pole In Ridgewood
A driver was taken after custody following a Sunday morning crash that snapped a utility pole in Ridgewood, causing scattered power and communications outages in the area. The uninjured driver was brought to Glen Rock police headquarters for a blood-alcohol test and then to village headquarters after the Acura RLX slammed into the pole on North Van Dien Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. March 3. Thousands of New Jersey residents were without power as of 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29, following gusty winds that swept the region overnight. The JCP&L map shows the following areas were in the dark: Hunterdon County: 3,953 customers Morris County: 3,642 customers Warren County: 3,594 customers Restoration times were not immediately available. Thursday will be partly sunny with a high near 40 and wind chill values between 20 and 30, the National Weather Service said. Friday, March 1 will be sunny with a high of 47. Storm Knocks Power To Thousands In Warren, Hunterdon Counties
Thousands of residents in northern New Jersey were without power as of Tuesday, Feb. 13 amid the snow storm that dropped several inches on the region. The JCP&L outage map shows 2,390 had no power in Warren County, mainly in Harmony Twp., Lopatcong, Phillipsburg, Pohatcong, and White Township as of 11:35 a.m. In Somerset County, nearly 900 residents had no power, mostly in Branchburg (790). Nearly 1,500 Hunterdon County residents were also in the dark. Those residents without power are mainly residents of Clinton, Holland, Lebanon, and Readington. Restoration times varied.

Car Crash Knocks Down Power Lines: Chatham PD
A car crash caused a power outage in Chatham on Friday, Feb. 2,authorities said. Main Street was closed between Fairmount Avenue and Lafayette Avenue after wires went down following the crash, the Chatham Borough Police Department said on Facebook. Power remains out but is expected to be restored within the hour, police said. Police are asking residents avoid the area while they replace the pole, officers said.

Update: Power had been restored as of 5:30 p.m. Original report: According to JCP&L, 3,262 Morris County residents were in the dark as of 11:45 a.m. The outage appears to be stemming from Schoolhouse Lane and Gaston Road, according to the JCP&L real-time map (see above).
