A bus transporting first- and second-graders from the Phillipsburg School District was struck by a vehicle on Route 22 shortly after dismissal on Tuesday, Dec. 12, the superintendent confirmed. The bus was transporting 22 children from Phillipsburg Primary School, which had just dismissed its students, when it was struck by a vehicle on Route 22 eastbound, Superintendent Gregory Troxell told Daily Voice. Hunterdon County native and devoted dad Theodore Joseph “TJ” Bill died at his Phillipsburg home on Wednesday, Oct. 25 aged 38. Born and raised at his family’s home in High Bridge, TJ attended Voorhees High School in Glen Gardner before enrolling at the Mechanics program at North Hunterdon Vo-Tech School in Annandale, his obituary says. After graduating, he moved to Phoenix, AZ, where he “felt called” to serve in the military. A driver was extricated and taken to a nearby hospital after a rollover crash caused entrapment and brought down several power lines in Warren County, authorities said. The Lopatcong Township Fire Company responded to the crash and confirmed a trapped driver in the overturned vehicle around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, the department said. A pickup truck towing a boat on Route 78 overturned in Warren County Thursday afternoon, shutting down two lanes and causing delays, state police said. A Ford F350 was towing the boat on a trailer when it overturned in the eastbound lanes near milepost 0.5 in Pohatcong Township just after 4:30 p.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told Daily Voice. High winds contributed to difficult conditions for Phillipsburg firefighters battling a house blaze Sunday afternoon.
