The biological mother of an infant found abandoned in Morris County nearly 40 years ago has been charged with manslaughter, authorities announced on Thursday, Sept. 7. Two boys found the abandoned newborn girl dead in a remote wooded area off of Mt. Pleasant Road in Mendham Township on Dec. 24, 1984. She was wrapped in a towel inside a plastic bag with her umbilical cord still attached, and the case was ruled a homicide.
