Tree Worker Electrocuted By Power Line In Morris County: Police A tree worker was killed after coming in contact with a power line in Morris County on the afternoon of Thursday, April 4, police said. The worker was at 95 Taylortown Road in Montville when he came in contact with the line around  3:50 p.m., Montville Police Chief Andrew Caggiano said. The Montville Fire Department, Morris County EMS, and Jersey Central Power and Light responded to the scene, Caggiano said. The crash occurred by the off-ramp from the Hamburg Turnpike to Rt. 287 North near Walmart in Riverdale around 3 a.m., according to the Riverdale Fire Department. The van was located about 30 feet down an embankment in a wooded area, where eight of its 10 occupants had self-extricated, the squad said. Update: 8 Saint Clare’s ER Patients Evacuated Due To Mechanical Fire, Heavy Smoke Eight patients were evacuated from the emergency room of Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville due to heavy smoke conditions from a mechanical fire Monday afternoon, authorities said. The fire broke out in an air handler on the roof due to a mechanical failure around 12 p.m. Monday, Denville Police Capt. Jeffrey Tucker said. Once the fire was doused, the heavy smoke spread through a portion of the building and led to patients’ evacuation, Tucker said.
