: Irate Resident Tries To Run Down Police: Wyckoff PD
An irate 69-year-old Wyckoff resident tried to run down a trio of police officers after threatening them with a screwdriver, authorities said. It took two days, but borough police tracked down and arrested Vincent Hartung in Paterson, Lt. Joseph Soto said. Officer Joseph Benanti had originally gone to Hartung’s Russell Avenue home this past Monday, May 1, to discuss an earlier incident with him, the lieutenant said. Burglar Had Specific Target In Bergen County Drugstore Break-In, Police Say
Someone broke into a Wyckoff drug store -- all for two bottles of liquid codeine, authorities said. Officers responding to a 4:45 a.m. burglar alarm earlier this week found the front door glass shattered at Sicomac Pharmacy, in a small shopping strip off the corner of Cedar Hill Avenue, Lt. Joseph Soto said. They secured the business and learned that all that was taken were two bottles of the addictive morphine derivative, valued at $86 combined, he said. The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence. Wyckoff detectives were investigating.

Officers In Bergen County Nab ID Thief From Bronx Fleeing Bank
Wyckoff police nabbed a fleeing Bronx man after he tried to withdraw $2,860 from a personal account using a bogus driver’s license, authorities said. Sgt. Kevin Pinches and Officer Kyle Scherm were responding to a call from the Provident Bank on Franklin Avenue early Thursday afternoon when they spotted Junior Robles, 26, fleeing the scene, Lt. Joseph Soto said. They grabbed Robles on nearby Monroe Avenue at Dana Hannon Way after a brief foot chase, Soto said. Robles remained held in the Bergen County Jail pending a first court appearance.
