A 41-year-old North Carolina man was killed in a multi-car crash on the Garden State Parkway in Essex County early Wednesday, April 17, authorities said. Tarron Francis was heading north in a Nissan SUV when he was struck by a Dodge passenger vehicle around 12:45 a.m. in Irvington, said Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police. An intoxicated van driver who led Wayne police on a wild chase following the recent rainstorm claimed to be in Kinnelon when they reached him on his cellphone when he was actually trying to flee on foot through the floodwaters, authorities said. A 38-year-old driver was killed in a four-car crash in Hunterdon County Thursday evening, August 17, state police confirmed. PA Driver Dies, Driver Changing Tire Hurt In Atlantic City Expressway Crash
A Pennsylvania driver died and another changing a tire on the side of the Atlantic City Expressway was seriously hurt in a crash Friday, Aug. 26, authorities said. The pedestrian was changing a tire on a Ford Explorer in the right shoulder when a GMC Yukon driven by Steven Ray Davis Jr, 43, of Downingtown, PA, crashed into the Ford and overturned, New Jersey State Police Trooper Brandi Slota said. The incident happened at milepost 36.3 in Winslow Township around 10 p.m., police said. Davis was pronounced dead while the pedestrian was treated for serious injuries at a local hospital.

Suspect At Large Following Route 46 Chase, State Police Say
A suspect remained at large following a chase on Route 46 in Warren County before dawn Wednesday, state police said. A state trooper attempted to stop a black GMC van for a violation in the westbound lanes near milepost 14.2 in Liberty Township just before 12:40 a.m., NJSP Trooper Brandi Slota told Daily Voice. The van driver failed to stop for the trooper’s lights and siren, initiating a brief chase, Slota said. The driver then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.
