Clinton Fire
A two-alarm fire sent heavy smoke and flames into the sky on Wednesday, May 8 in Hunterdon County, authorities said. The single-family house fire occurred on Albert Drive, the Union Township Office of Emergency Management said. The OEM said it is working with the homeowner to determine any assistance they will need until their insurance company and other parties are able to provide assistance. It is unknown if there were any injuries.

19 Testing Center Monday
The drive-thru coronavirus testing center at the County College of Morris will be closed Monday in anticipation of strong winds and storms in the area. Patients with appointments for Monday will be contacted by the county's office of emergency management. Appointments can be rescheduled using the county's appointment portal. A doctor's referral is needed for testing at the site. Anyone without one will be turned away.

President Donald Trump was expected to declare a national state of emergency Friday to quickly deliver billions of dollars in federal aid to states in response to the global coronavirus pandemic, according to several reports. The declaration -- expected at a 3 p.m. news conference from Washington -- will immediately trigger FEMA financial and physical aid to states and municipalities under the 1988 Stafford Act, which makes up to $40 billion in federal money available.
