A 56-year-old cyclist was flown to a nearby hospital after falling down a steep hill in Hunterdon County and losing consciousness, authorities said. The Pittstown woman was cycling on the Delaware-Raritan Canal Tow Path when she lost control of her bicycle and ran down a steep slope into a wooded area around 3:35 p.m. Sunday Oct. 23, a press release from Lambertville Police said. Police: Cyclist Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Morris County
A cyclist was struck by a driver that fled the scene in Morris County Friday morning, police said. The cyclist was hit by a black Ford F150 that left the scene near Southern Blvd. and Lafayette Avenue in Chatham Township around 11:25 a.m., initial reports said. The victim was treated for minor injuries by the Chatham Emergency Squad and refused further medical attention, Police Chief Thomas Miller told Daily Voice. A local cyclist is looking to track down the driver of a vehicle that he says “deliberately” sideswiped his group of riders and sent two victims to the hospital. Alan Kirby was cycling east on Newburg Road in Palmer Township when a vehicle sideswiped his group of about a dozen riders on the Route 33 overpass around 8:50 a.m. Saturday, he wrote in a Facebook post that has been shared almost 900 times. A cyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a tractor-trailer in Morris County Tuesday morning, police said. The accident occurred near the intersection of Route 56 and Pequannock Street in Dover just before 11:30 a.m., Captain William Newton told Daily Voice.
