Born in Rahway, New Jersey, Derrell — affectionately known as “Rellooo Hellooo” — spent time in Roselle before moving out of state, his obituary says. Derrell played basketball as a Forward before graduating from Freedom High School and earning an associate’s degree from Northampton Community College.
