Tree Blown Into Lambertville Garage With Homeowner Inside: Firefighters A Lambertville homeowner received quite the scare when a large tree crushed his garage while he was inside of it on Monday, March 11, authorities said. City of Lambertville Fire District #1 Strong winds were to blame for the tree blowing over at 3:08 p.m., the City of Lambertville Fire District #1 said on Facebook.  No injuries were reported, firefighters said and the scene was eventually cleared.

Toddler Rescued, Driver Nearly Impaled By Fence Post In Hunterdon County Rollover Crash: Photos A toddler was rescued and a driver nearly impaled by a fence post in a rollover crash near a Hunterdon County cemetery on Friday, Oct. 14, authorities said.  The City of Lambertville Fire District #1 responded to the scene on Rt. 29 near the Holcomb Riverview Cemetery in Delaware Township just before 3:20 p.m., the district said. Upon arrival, emergency crews found the driver trapped and the toddler restrained in a car seat in the overturned vehicle. The blaze broke out on South Union Street between Swan and Mount Hope Streets in Lambertville just after 10:10 a.m., the local fire department said. Several handlines were stretched through the burning home and up toward the attic, where the fire had “advanced significantly” and “rapidly extended up to the eaves,” authorities said.
