Fight Broke Out Before Double Stabbing That Left Union City Boy Dead: Prosecutor
Authorities have release preliminary details in a double stabbing that left a teen boy dead and another seriously hurt in Union City this week. Five teens were involved in a fight at 40th Street and Bergenline Avenue around 6:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Allen Flores, 15, of Union City, and a 16-year-old boy were each stabbed and hospitalized. Flores was pronounced dead at Christ Hospital in Jersey City. UPDATE: A commuter bus and four other vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash that jammed rush-hour traffic into and out of the Lincoln Tunnel. The inbound bus was headed east toward the inbound tunnel in the specially designated lane on the westbound side of Route 495 when the crash occurred in Union City between the Kennedy Boulevard and Bergenline Avenue underpasses around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Port Authority said. Details Released In Police Involved Shooting July 4th In Union City
A 58-year-old stabbing suspect was hospitalized after being shot by police responding to the incident in Hudson County July Fourth, police said. Jesus Suazo hurt the victim during an argument before police were flagged down on 23rd Street and Bergenline Avenue in Union City around 7:50 p.m., Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. An officer fired his service weapon during the encounter, striking Suazo, who was hospitalized and in stable condition as of Wednesday, Suarez said. Jersey City Lookout Admits Role In Union City Bank Robbery
A Jersey City man admitted Thursday that he served as the lookout while an ex-con robbed a Union City bank. Juan Rojas Hernandez, 21, told a federal judge via videoconference in Newark that he got a cut of the proceeds after William Tedeschi robbed the Valley National Bank branch on Bergenline Avenue of $10,200 in November 2019.
