Late morning, the Raritan Township Fire Company responded to a water flow alarm at a Church Street warehouse, the fire department said on Facebook. When firefighters arrived they saw smoke showing and an active fire in the warehouse, firefighters said.

A second alarm was transmitted as firefighters dealt with the building's size and the freezing temperatures, firefighters said. Firefighters discovered the blaze involved pallets of large cardboard totes with plastic items stacked floor to ceiling, firefighters said, requiring multiple handlines being stretched to help knock down the blaze.

A trailer-mounted ventilation fan from the Millstone Valley Fire Department assisted with ventilating the large building, firefighters said. There were no reports of any injuries and the fire remains under investigation, firefighters said.
