Three Shot, One Dead In Elizabeth: Prosecutors Three people were shot, one fatally, in Elizabeth on Monday, June 26, authorities said. At 8:30 p.m., Elizabeth police officers responded to the 600 block of Salem Avenue after receiving reports of multiple shot, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Upon arrival, police found three gunshot victims inside a vehicle, Gurley Edouard a 28-year-old Roselle resident, a 23-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl, prosecutors said. A 23-year-old man set fire to a mattress at a Chandler Avenue residence, then assaulted a responding officer who confronted the suspect as he emerged from the building around 10:45 a.m., Lt. Union Man Gets 8 Years For Beating Pregnant Bus Driver In Elizabeth A Union man who was just months out of prison when he attacked a pregnant bus driver early this year was sentenced to another eight years, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said. Andre Dawson III, 39, has an extensive criminal history that includes 40 arrests and 13 felony convictions, which led to the extended sentence. Dawson previously pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree aggravated assault.
