2 Newark Kids Attacked By Their Own Dog Two Newark children were attacked by their pet dog Wednesday evening, authorities said. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. at a 16th Street home. The dog was turned over to animal control and the incident was under investigation as of 9:40 p.m., according to Catherine Adams, a spokeswoman for the Newark Police Department. Initial and unconfirmed reports said the dog was a pit bull.

$1,000 Reward Offered For Info On Abused Pit Bull Left For Dead In Union County Local animal rescue groups were offering a $1,000 reward for information regarding a pit bull left for dead in Union County. The grey dog had been abused and was dehydrated when she was found on the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue and Hand Place Wednesday in Elizabeth, the the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said. Anyone with information is asked to call Elizabeth Police Detective Rui Xavier at 908-558-6866.
