Here's What's Replacing Shuttered NJ ShopRite Store, Report Says At Home decor chain plans to open another New Jersey location in Middletown, the Asbury Park Press reports. At Home recently signed a lease to open in Middletown Plaza and will move into the 20-year-old space formerly occupied by ShopRite at 1425 Route 35, the outlet says. ShopRite moved across Route 35 to the Kings Commons Shopping Center where the business remodeled a former Sears store, according to the report. While At Home fills a major vacancy at Middletown Plaza, there are still others, such as the former Walgreens, which occupies more than 14,000 square feet, the outlet said. …

Retro Fitness Abruptly Shutters Another NJ Location Retro Fitness is closing yet another location in New Jersey. The gym announced its West Orange location on Prospect Avenue will close for good on Dec. 31.  Memberships will transfer to the Belleville location. The gym made the announcement on Facebook Tuesday, Dec. 28. During the pandemic, Retro Fitness closed its Paramus and Ramsey locations.

The Paramus location made the announcement in an Instagram post Friday. No one was immediately available to talk when Daily Voice called Friday evening. The Ramsey location shuttered June 24, according to a Facebook post. Both locations instructed members to contact ABC Financial to have their membership transferred. Ramsey Police Officer, Borough EMS Worker Revive Heart Attack Victim, 22, At Gym A Ramsey police officer and EMS worker revived a 22-year-old who went into cardiac arrest at a local gym on Sunday. Marc Greenwood, a Ramsey Ambulance Corps member and Mahwah police dispatcher, was at Retro Fitness off Route 17 when the victim collapsed, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said. Greenwood, who used to work at the same gym, began CPR. Officer Bryan Stevens arrived soon after and brought the victim back to full consciousness with one shock from a defibrillator, the chief said. Ramsey EMS took him to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.
