Man Suing American Dream Says He Broke His Leg Riding Waterslide
A man is suing the American Dream mall in East Rutherford claiming he broke his leg while riding a waterslide at the DreamWorks Water Park in July 2021. Xavier Velez filed a lawsuit in Superior Court of New Jersey in Bergen County on Wednesday, June 21. Also named in the suit were Triple Five, which owns the mall, and the operators and manufacturers of the waterslide. While riding the Zanier Zig Zag Slide, Velez said the receptacle pool was inadequately filled causing him to hit the bottom of the slide so severely that he broke his leg, requiring surgery and permanent injuries, …

Three Hospitalized, Others Treated After Deck With Dozens Of Adults, Kids Collapses In Teaneck
Three people were hospitalized after a deck holding 2½ dozen adults and children gave way over the weekend in Teaneck, authorities said. The most severe injury involved a victim who suffered arm burns when hot water splashed from a chafing dish during the 6-foot-high rear deck collapsed on Kipp Street at the corner of Linden Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, Police Chief Andrew McGurr said. Clifton Gas Station Attendant Thrown Into Street From Stolen Car Hood
A 26-year-old gas station worker in Clifton was seriously injured when she jumped onto the hood of her car in an attempt to stop a thief and got thrown into the street, authorities said. 2 Firefighters Hurt Battling Pepsi Co Fire
A massive fire erupted Tuesday, March 22 at the Pepsi Co factory in Piscataway. Two firefighters were injured while battling the blaze including one who suffered heat exhaustion and the other a shoulder injury, local officials said. The cause is believed to have been propane tanks exploding. The fire was under control early Wednesday.

Arriving firefighters were flagged down to help a burn victim who was brought to a nearby business as flames ravaged the 40-foot pleasure vessel docked in the 400 block of Dock Street around 10:30 a.m., fire officials said. Warren County Mechanic Hospitalized After Tire Explodes In His Face
A Warren County mechanic was hospitalized after a tire exploded in his face, State Police said. The 59-year-old mechanic was transported to Morristown Medical Center with facial injuries after a tire accidentally blew up on him around 2:10 Saturday afternoon, at Pryslak Sod Farms, in Great Meadows, Trooper Alejandro Goez said. The mechanic was "conscious and talking" following the Shades of Death Road incident, which was deemed accidental and non-suspicious, Goez said. The cause was not immediately known, Goez said.

A firefighter and a civilian were treated for minor injuries at the scene after an overnight house fire Tuesday ravaged a Teaneck home, responders said. All of the occupants got out safely in the second-floor Van Buskirk Road home fire, which blew through a front window and pushed into the attic. Boiler Room Accident Injures Worker, Clears Lakeland Regional HS
A boiler room accident Thursday morning injured an electrician and cleared Lakeland Regional High School in Wanaque. The 57-year-old worker arced a wire, causing a breaker to blow, around 8:10 a.m, Wanaque Police Capt. Kenneth Farina said. Contrary to other media reports, there wasn’t an explosion, Farina emphasized.
