A Florida man living in his van was stopped on Route 17 with a high-powered handgun, a semi-automatic tactical rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun, Rochelle Park police said.
Jewann Smith, 39, of Fort Lauderdale, also had a high-capacity magazine and flash suppressor in the Ford van, which was stopped by Officer Chris Kiszka on the southbound highway mid-Saturday afternoon, June 24, Capt. James M. DePreta said.

Heroin, Cocaine, Rifles Seized From Newark Drug Manufacturers In Raids: Prosecutor
Stolen rifles, high-capacity magazines, heroin and cocaine were seized from three Newark men in a major bust last month, authorities said.
Dennis Julu, Demetrius Julu, and Altariq Webb, were found with 590 grams of cocaine, 642 grams of heroin, seven guns including two assault rifles and five handguns, one of which was reported stolen out of state, as well as two high-capacity magazines, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens II said.
It wasn't immediately clear if the Julus were related, or how.

A Connecticut passenger pointed a handgun at a New Jersey State Police trooper during a pursuit on Route 287, authorities said Monday.
The pursuit, which began in Boonton, ended in a Mahwah park with the gunman and driver in custody and four weapons seized, NJSP Trooper Charles Marchan said.
A trooper tried to stop the Jeep Cherokee for a traffic violation on northbound Route 287 in Boonton Township shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, Marchan said.
