'Static Never Dies:' Armed Paterson Man Being Sought By Police
Police in North Jersey are seeking the public's help tracking down a 25-year-old man for eluding an officer this week, they said. Deyah Shaabneh is in possession of a concealed carry weapon and is known to drive a 2023 Acura TLX bearing NJ/X37SBP or NJ/DEMON, which is a fictitious license plate, Fairfield police said. Shaabneh is wanted for eluding a Fairfield officer on Wednesday, April 24, police said. His permit for concealed carry has been deactivated but he may also be in possession of a handgun. Monmouth University pollsters have tried to answer a question that has been hard to solve for many in the Garden State: Where is Central Jersey exactly? 8-Year-Old Horseback Rider Seriously Injured In New Jersey SUV Crash
An 8-year-old horseback rider suffered serious injuries in a crash with an SUV in North Jersey this week, authorities said. The child was riding the horse along Linn Smith Road in Frankford Township, when the horse traveled into the roadway and struck the side of a Ford SUV around 5:10 p.m, New Jersey State Police Trooper Troy McNair said. The 8-year-old was ejected and suffered serious injuries. The horse suffered moderate injuries. No further information was provided.

A 42-year-old man was captured with help from the US Marshals Service in connection with a recent home burglary in North Jersey, authorities said. An 82-year-old man died after neighbors found him on the sidewalk with severe burns in a North Jersey town on Friday night, Oct. 13, according to Daily Voice sources and authorities. A pair of door-to-door contractors were arrested after police say they scammed a North Jersey woman out of $125,000. The victim hired Patrick O'Doherty and Anthony Doherty to repair to sets of concrete steps for $3,800, paid in full in advance, on Aug. 20, Bloomfield police said. Once the demolition began on the steps, Doherty and O'Doherty would show up sporadically, usually in the late afternoon hours, to do more demolition work.
