Man Struck By Train In Montclair Survives With Serious Injuries A pedestrian was struck by an NJ Transit train Wednesday in Montclair. The man was seriously injured but survived after he was hit by the train near the Upper Montclair station at Bellevue Avenue around 4:35 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Paul Milo said. Montclair-Boonton Line service was temporarily suspended but resumed with 45-minute delays shortly after.  None of the approximately 15 customers and crew members on board the train were injured, Milo said.  NJ Transit police are investigating.

The identified pedestrian was struck near the Clairmont Avenue crossing around 7 p.m., an NJ Transit spokesperson said. The train had left Hoboken at 6:33 p.m. and was bound to arrive in Lake Hopatcong at 8:14 p.m. The victim was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. None of the 400 passengers or employees on the train were injured, officials said. Service had resumed around 8 p.m. with delays of up to an hour reported.

Teen Hospitalized After Being Hit By Train In Montclair A 15-year-old boy was taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson early Wednesday after he was hit by a train in Montclair, an NJ Transit spokeswoman said.  The boy was hit at the Jerome Place grade crossing around 12:30 a.m. The train, No. 6299 on the Montclair Boonton line, was headed to Montclair State University, the spokeswoman said.  The spokeswoman did not have any information on the boy's condition. The train was the last one of the night and had just two crew members aboard, neither of whom was hurt.

Man Killed By Train In Montclair, Delays Continue Monday Morning  A man was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train early Monday morning in Montclair, NJ Transit said.  The man, who Transit said was trespassing, was struck around 5:20 a.m. near Watchung Avenue by a train bound for Penn Station in New York. None of the 30 people aboard were injured.  The man's name was not immediately released  Delays on the Montclair Boonton line were about an hour as of shortly before 10 a.m.

Some NJ Transit Trains To NYC Will Be Diverted To Hoboken This Summer NJ Transit Thursday announced changes to rush-hour service on the Montclair-Boonton, North Jersey Coast and Morris and Essex lines in order to accommodate repair work on two rail lines used by Amtrak at Penn Station New York. Some trains will also bypass Broad Street Station in Newark during peak periods.  The changes begin June 17 and end Friday, Sept. 6. The work will be carried out on weekdays.
