MLB Raises $235,000 For Little Ferry Field

LITTLE FERRY, N.J. — The memory of a Little Ferry native who died of breast cancer will live on, thanks to Major League Baseball and its affiliates.

MLB raised $235,000 for Shannon Forde Field, located on Mehrhof Avenue, in memory of the mom and late New York Mets public relations executive, MLB announced.

Renovations to the field will include dugouts with protective fencing and benches, perimeter fencing, bleachers, a backstop, a scoreboard and field signs, according to ESPN.com.
